During the week of 39th session of Human Rights Council in Geneva in the last week of September, Together We Build It organization (TWBI) inter-generational delegation arrived to Geneva consisting of our senior President Dr. Rida Altubuly and one of our youngest members, our Co-leader Coordinator Aisha Fathi.
As part of an ongoing study to evaluate the participation of the grassroots women’s led organizations in political and peace processes done by different actors of the international community and it is conducted by UN Women and in collaboration with Women’s International League for Peace & Freedom (WILPF). This study is based on consultations done with Libyan women activists on ground covering the 3 main regions within Libya (Tripoli, Sebha, and Benghazi) to see through their eyes and experience what is their perspective on the international community approach. Building up on the input of the consultations, a policy brief is being drafted to showcase the findings of this study.
Also, an advocacy plan consisting of a campaign “You are missing the full Picture” which had been launched during the side event to HRC hosted by WILPF on 25th of September and delivering an oral statement by the Dr. Rida at the interactive dialogue of the session on Libya.
